Gemma Doyle sketches

Just finished reading the Gemma Doyle series (A Great & Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing). They were thoroughly distracting me from my drawing, so I took a suggestion and started drawing things that came into my head as I read. THANK YOU MUCHLY !!

Anyway, here's what I have to say. (if you're not done reading, might have spoilers)
Gemma's Amulet: in the book it is described more like the small one at the top, but in my mind I greatly prefer the larger one. I imagine that the cord would be the lower one - and as she is a lady of high society it would probably be silver, not the black silk.
I laughed when she discribed the gargoles as being cheerful in their duty (2nd book, I think).
Spence Uniform: man, now I want this... I just tried for a victorian-ish dress and cape. The main parts of the dress are a light, powdery blue. The lace - on the front boddice, front skirt, collar, and ends of sleeves - is darker, maybe a sky blue or a dusty blue. The buttons and ribbon around the waist are a darker sky blue, think evening. The cape is a dark blue velvet with gold clasps; the inside would be blue silk.
The pixie isn't quite right...you can't see her sharp teeth, and she doesn't look dangerous enough.
I. Am. Obsessed. With. Evil. Pippa. Or, I will be soon enough. I wish I'd put more expression into her eyebrows, but other than that I'm in love. You'll be seing more of her, I can tell. This portrait is baised in the 2nd book, when Gemma catches her eating...well, whatever it is, I can't remember. I really like the dying flowers. My scanner put retarded glare on her hair.
Mrs. McCleethy's Ring: meh, I could've done better...It looks so...I dunno...I'd like to color it.
Felicity's Saphire Ring: rather boring. Baised it on an opal ring of mine. I can also imagine it being a more rectangular stone with a more elaborate setting, which I suppose fits better, but I didn't really like drawing rings so I didn't bother. (lazy ass) xD
I love the discription for evil Amar's eyes. "Swirling black ringed with red" oooh~! I wanted to do a portrait of him, too, but I have no idea how I'd draw his helmet. So I just did an eye.
C'mon - who doesn't love a good poppy every now and then? Oh yeah, and the crow was just to fill up space. It's a crappy crow, anyway.
Gemma's Wedding Sari: I really should've jsut used color. it's so hard to get different shades to stand out when they're blended and in lead... Grrr. I intend to draw this decently eventually.
Rakshana's Pin: used both European and Eastern swords, since it isnt really specified. Sorry the skulls are so cheesy cartoony, but I was being lazy.
